Chivi- Chivi Rural Hospital one of the biggest health institutions in Chivi district has embarked on an outreach Night Clinic at Chivi Turn Off Business Centre News Of The South is informed.

Following a campaign called One Condom One Round at the business centre early this year health officials thought there was going to be a decline in sexually transmitted infections,but there is an increase as ladies of the night are flocking at the business centre.

The business centre is located between Shurugwi-Mhandamabwe road and Masvingo -Beitbridge highway and is a hive of activity for food,beer and the oldest profession prostitution is the order of the day.The ladies are seen queuing at night at Huruyadzo Nite Club,Edza Power and Juwawason Bottle Store.

There is also a truck inn owned by Chivi Rural District Council where drivers park during the night however ladies of the night operate like airtime vendors whilst they are thigh ladies.

After noticing that the business centre hosted prostitutes and do not come for treatment at the hospital the health officials decided to start a program named Night Clinic.On this program the health officials will do HIV testing, ART initiation and condom distribution. These three items are the centre of diseases mainly STIs

On HIV testing the health officials test someone if he or she tested positive they then initiate an ART whereby the person will start an Hiv/Aids medication. They also do condom distribution to the people and advised them to condomise so as to reduce STIs infection although condoms are not 100%.

Speaking to News of The South a health official name Zishumba said “We can never compromise on safety and health, but we are trying our best to outline to you our three objectives of our campaign which are verbal, physical and medication we will to you verbally and get the nature of your physical outcome and then give you medication”

The health officials are housed at Mhukahuru complex at Chivi Turn Off Business Centre and they said more people are coming especially those who are afraid to visit the health institution during the day. This program has started a month ago it starts at 5:30pm and ends at 8:00pm.And it has been welcomed by the people and the business community.
