Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South)-The 8th session of the Namibia-Zimbabwe Joint Commission concluded today with the signing of a revised Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries that will see their continued collaboration in various areas.
Three other MOU’s are set to be signed later in the day at State House after the arrival of the Namibian Head of state President Hage Geingob who will be meeting with President Mugabe.
The three MOU’s are on women empowerment, health and sports.
“I thank the ministers from both sides for fully participating to make sure that we finalise the documentation”
“The challenge that lies before us, three in fact, first is implementation the second is implementation and the third is implementation”
“Those are the three challenges that we must rise to by the time we meet in Namibia that each and every one of the agreements that we have reached since we started our Joint Commission can be implemented then we can move on to new ground”.
“We have so much to benefit from each other”, he said.
Namibia has made considerable input to the state of the country’s energy sector and also provided support in the advent of floods that destroyed so much infrastructure in Zimbabwe.
