Interim coach Eddington Ng’onamo has started a new era with Malawi’s Flames by naming a new look 25-member provisional squad of home based players ahead of March 23 away World Cup qualifier in Namibia.
“The players are expected to report for training on Monday 4th March 2013 by 5 pm sharp. The team will be coached by an interim technical panel headed by Mr Eddington Ng’onamo and assisted by Mr Patrick Mabedi and Mr Ernest Mtawali.
Charles Manda will be the Team Manager while Captain Kondwani Chipanda will be the team doctor,” reads a statement from the Football Association of Malawi.
Ng’onamo, who is yet to sign a contract, will beef up his squad with some foreign based players a few days before the Namibia trip.
The home based squad has some notable omissions such as Green Harawa and Dave Banda who were regulars under axed coach Kinnah Phiri.
Veteran winger Fischer Kondowe, who fell out with Kinnah, also returns alongside Big Bullets team mates Sankhani Mkandawire and Douglas Chirambo.
