HARARE, Zimbabwe.(News of the South)-Malnutrition is now a problem to most poor families who cannot afford to get decent food prompting Glytime Foods
to come on board to feed such vulnerable communities with highly nutritious affordable foods .

Speaking to the News of the South reporter in Harare, the director of Glytime Foods Mr Lesley Marange said he identified this initiative in 2017 when he attended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo.
He said: “I had was not pleased about the level of malnutrition in Zimbabwe and Africa as a whole ,as such as an engineer I managed to identify the solution to malnutrition by exhibiting food manufacturers stands at ZITF in Bulawayo in 2017, I then managed to consult my colleagues and we started to manufacture our own equipment needed for our food processing industry.”
He added that the company manufacturers ten tonnes of nutritional foods per week which are mainly made from macadonia nuts and these nuts.
“We are having our markets in neighbouring countries like Zambia, Botswana,Malawi to mention a few.We are assisted by Zimtrade to find market for our products.”said Marange.
Speaking on the same event , Zimtrade Chief Executive Officer Mr Allan T Majuru said the mandate of Zimtrade is to energize Zimbabwe export growth by helping industries on issues that involve market intelligence, export development, export promotion and advocacy.
“We are always available be it an individual company or industries who knock to our doors in need of us. We facilitate everything be it in exports or skills training ” narrated Mr Majuru
Glytime Foods was established on February, 18 2018 in Harare and has so far employed a dozen of workers mainly young professionals.
Marange explained some challenges they face:”I am 31 years old and I am the eldest in the company so if we approach financial institutions they tell us that we are very young to be trusted for giving us loans , I really wonder how are financial institutions treating us like this as we are the very active age group who are running our business.”
