Malawi Achievers Awards Set For leicester, United Kingdom

It will be glamour on the red carpet as the Malawi Achievers Awards take place on Saturday March 29 at Leicester`s upmarket Marriots Hotel, Smith Way, Grove Park, Enderby, LE19 1SB, Leicester.

The event is being hosted by Malawi Association UK in partnership with other Malawi regional Associations in the United Kingdom.

The event will be from 6pm till 1am and a total of 17 Awards will be given out.

Malawi Association UK is an umbrella body of UK based Malawi Associations, a registered charity that promotes welfare and sense of belonging for Malawians living in the United Kingdom. It also extends its welfare policy to help the needy in Malawi.

Stepson Mbewe one of the organisers spoke to News Of The South and highlighted that Saturday`s Awards ceremony was the first organised by Malawians in the Diaspora and promises to be an exciting time in Malawian history.

About 271 people are expected to attend the event.

Among the guests will be prominent businessmen and women from Leicester and across the UK.
The objectives of the MALAWIAN ACHIEVERS AWARD CEREMONY are, inter alia:

(a) to recognise and reward people who are making a positive difference to The Malawian community in the UK.

(b) to show a token of appreciation to People, Charities and Organisations from here in UK that are making a positive difference in Malawi.

(c) to bring Malawians and friends of Malawi from all walks of life together to share ideas and knowledge, networking and also to promote Malawian culture especially among the younger generation.
At the event there will also be some fund raising for cancer patients in Malawi.
