Cape Town, South Africa (News of The South)The Senior Netball team, the Gems are determined to finish the World Cup on a high when they take on Barbados on Friday in the 13th place Play-Off at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa.



Zimbabwe started the World Cup campaign targeting a top four finish but have not been able to match they ambitions.

The Gems lost all the group matches however they improved in the second round giving them a chance for fight for 13th position.

Zimbabwe face a familiar foe in Barbados a side they lost to in the group stages but the team is putting all the behind the.

Captain Felisitus Kwangwa says restoring lost pride is now the goal.



“We need to finish on a high note, yes it’s not where we wanted to be, but we need to salvage everything we can and go with pride,” she said.

The match against Barbados will be Zimbabwe’s last at the 2023 Netball World Cup.
