(News of The South) – As the football league season for the 2021-2022 set for resumption in most of the countries top leagues around the world,clubs worldwide are busy on the market with players also on the move searching for better offers or greener pastures.


Zimbabwean players are not spared on this transfer circle,regardless of the deadly pandemic Corona virus which has put soccer and other sporting activities in Zimbabwe on halt.

In recent weeks Zimbabwean players has been flocking to join the newly promoted DSTV Premiership Limpopo based outfit Sekhukhune United.

Sekhukhune is home to the former Highlanders veteran shot stopper Tapiwa Kapini,McClive Phiri and Walter Musona who were instrumental in their promotion especially the veteran goalminder.

In their massive recruitment to reinforce and bolster their squad to match the big boys ahead of the start of the DSTV premier league season kick off in few days from now.The Premiership debutants Sekhukhune has brought in the speed merchant livewire, slippery winger Talent Chawapiwa and the Zimbabwean, South African based central striker Charlton Mashumba.

In addition to the duo,former Warriors captain defensive stalwart Willard Katsande who was released by Kaizer Chiefs after the expiry of his contract became a surprise acquisition to the Limpopo club,initial Katsande was said to be heading to Amazulu but Sekhukhune United flexed their monetary muscle to lure the talented gritty workaholic defensive linkman whose experience will add value to the debutants.



The Limpopo based club Sekhukhune United went on to raid a rare breed talent at Caps United,taking on board Blessing Sarupinda,a player who was expected by many soccer fans to play a vital cog on Caps revival when football activities resumes in the country. Blessing was one of the outstanding players for the Warriors in the senior men’s Cosafa Cup in South Africa,Cape town a few weeks ago.

Sekhukhune are not yet over with their talent search from Zimbabwe, it is also understood they are weighing options to look at Evans Rusike and the lacky Warriors midfielder Ovidy Karuru who are club hunting in South Africa. Other players who are clubless include the former Chicken Inn and National team Warriors hardman Danny “Deco” Phiri who was offloaded by Golden Arrows together with fellow countryman Edmore “Zikhipha” Sibanda.Phiri spent most of the time last season on the side lines due to an ankle injury.
