HARARE – (News of The South) – Zimbabwe Nurses Association (ZINA) has withdrawn its service with immediate effect emphasizing they will only return to work once their demands required in fighting coronavirus are addressed.
The association needs Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), corona risk allowance and water.
“Following a letter that was presented to our employer 48 hours ago, informing them to urgently attend to our demands as frontline workers, it seems our concerns are not getting the urgency it deserves. So in that regard, all nurses are withdrawing their service with immediate effect until there is genuine action taken by the employer,” ZINA said in a letter directed to its members.
Also said it will only resume their duties once its concerns have been swiftly acted upon.
