Zimbabwe to host Regional Energy Regulators Association summit

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – Zimbabwe is set to host the annual Regional Energy Regulators Association (RERA) summit from the 17th to the 21st of February 2020 in Victoria Falls.
Running under the theme, Creating a conducive environment to enhance regional energy security, trade and investment, the summit is expected to focus on strategies that assist in unlocking investments into the region’s energy sector, energy tariffs, energy sector regulatory environment and assess progress in uptake of renewable energy.
Moreso, the symposium will deliberate on the roadmap towards the setting up of the Regional Energy Regulatory Authority (RERA).
Commenting on the sidelines of the forthcoming summit, Edington Mazambani, acting Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) said, “Zimbabwe is proud to be hosting the crucial meeting which is set for Victoria Falls.
We expect that the outcomes of these discussions will enhance regional energy security and we want to package the region as a destination for energy investments.”
