The European Eunion Council on Tourism and Trade endorsed Zimbabwe as the World’s Best Tourism Destination for 2014 title for promoting ecotourism and the successful convention of the United Nations World Tourism (UNWTO) General Assembly last year despite tremendous logistic and economic challenges.
The Assembly says Zimbabwe is a safe destination which has the capacity to organize top world events.
According to the council, Zimbabwe demonstrated that it is safe, open and a perfectly managed powerhouse.
Apart from that, it further says the country has done a lot in advancing eco-tourism support in the preservation of natural resources.
In 2013, Zimbabwe hosted the UNWTO General Assembly which was rated as the best ever.
