Harare. – All Teacher Unions calling for a 100% salary increase, 50% transport and housing allowance, and 75% rural and hardships allowance, as well as reconstitution of vacation leave. Unless the government meets this minimum threshold teachers have agreed to embark on industrial action with effect from second term. A notice to industrial action would be handed to government on the 27th of March 2018.
We have nothing to fear except fear itself. We therefore call upon all teachers across the union divide to rise, mobilise and shine, and indeed brace for a protracted entrenchment in the event that our employer fail to give mellow to our legitimate demands.
