The most painful thing is that Zimbabweans are the ones who demonise their own country and their law enforcers. The Zimbabwe human rights records has never been measured from what happens on the ground but from what the opposition sees in their sleep. The click brigade have created a second Zimbabwe which is under the evil police powers and they have never attempted the true Zimbabwe which is enjoying peace thanks to the good works of the Police.

Looking at the country which has the police mostly hated by its citizens we look no further than those who claim to be champions of human rights. United States definitely has one of the most hated and untrusted police in the world. Many people in the United States absolutely despise police officers because of the rate they kill their own citizens. It’s very true that some cops disgrace the force and have no right to be uniformed police officers. The way our societies are made is that When you are in a situation where you need instant help, you’re gonna call the police. This is because
we need to work better together to build trust between the police and the public. The police are supposed to always do their best to develop bonds with people in their community and the community must do the same. The researchers have found out that For a first world country, the US leads the world in terms of how frequently it’s law enforcement officials kill its own citizens. It is only slightly less lethal to its own population than the Democratic Republic of Congo, and worse than Iraq.

Per head of population, they kill 92 times more people than the UK or Polish law enforcement.
For the expense and resources spent on them, US police return the lowest performance quality of any country in the world you care to name. To be worse, they would have to actually drive around in armoured vehicles and randomly machine gun citizens.

According to the world Internal Security and Police Index (WISPI), Nigeria ranks as the worst police force in Africa. The other research and ranking was carried out by the International Police Science Association (IPSA) and the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP).
WISPI measures the ability of the police and other security providers to address internal security issues in 127 countries, across four domains, using sixteen indicators. The four domains are, capacity, process, legitimacy and outcomes.

Capacity domain scrutinized the resources that a nation dedicates to internal security.
Process domain looks at whether the resources dedicated to internal security are used in an effective manner
Legitimacy domain is a measure of whether the public view security providers, particularly the police, in a favourable light.
Outcomes domain assesses current threats to internal security.

The ranking of the Nigerian Police as the worst in Africa does not come as a surprise. The report highlighted the ineffectiveness of the police and judicial system, as well as the problem of corruption in Nigeria. More so, 81 per cent of Nigerian respondents to the Global Corruption Barometer admitted to paying a bribe to a police officer, and unsurprisingly, the Rule of Law index found that military and police officials are likely to use their public positions for private gain. All these and more have contributed to the decay in the Nigerian Police.

Several Zimbabweans who are in Zimbabwe were contacted for the survey. The traffic section was singled to be the top corrupt section in Zimbabwe but generally despite few dotted individuals Zimbabwe is not in the top ten of the worst police force in Africa and in the world. For those who have always labelled Zimbabwe as the worst country in policing were left shell shocked. Zimbabwe Republic Police has discharged itself so well that it is far away from the list of the Angels of death. The top ten evil police services in Africa starting with the worst are :

1.Nigeria
2. Congo DR
3. Kenya
4. Uganda
5. Mozambique
6. Cameroon
7. Sierra Leone
8. Ethiopia
9. Zambia
10. Madagascar
If other people see the good in the Zimbabwe republic police what are you as a real Zimbabwean seeing.

It’s widely understood that police forces have a tremendous responsibility to protect and serve their communities, whether at the local, state, or even regional level. Those same forces also have an obligation to be fiscally responsible with the taxpayer dollars they spend while protecting and serving. Thus, the importance of performance measures, both for individual officers and entire agencies, is easy to see.

With limited funds due to sanctions the Zimbabwe Republic Police has discharged its duties to the highest level and it is recognised world wide as a better police force and servant to its community. The crime rate in Zimbabwe is far less than in Zambia South Africa and many African countries.
There are crimes which are not prevalent in Zimbabwe but common in other countries. Limping and crawling with our resources wounded by sanctions Zimbabwe Republic Police have delivered.

Because of our police force cases of kidnapping for money are only found in movies. There are measurements which are easy to track, such as the number of arrests made, calls the, responded to, and reports taken. Enforcement activities arrests, warnings, and the like often receive particularly close attention. For the police force crime rates tend to be the go-to metric to determine effectiveness, despite the fact that issues well outside of a police agency’s control can have a tremendous impact on crime in a given community. Zimbabwean Police have been all out to serve the nation. The Zimbabwe Republic Police has moved from a traditional to a community-oriented approach, and its performance measures must shift as-well. Unlike the typical police performance measures of arrest and crime rates found in traditional police philosophies, community-oriented policing performance measures are more general and tend to measure the extent to which police affect the quality of life in the communities they serve as well as the problems they solve.

Another researcher have out ten top corrupt police officers in the world. Again the Zimbabwe Republic Police are not there. People think that that the police force will tackle all problems related with law and order as well as corruption so if corruption becomes rampant in the country people look at the police. Despite cash problems our police force are not in the list of the 10 countries of the world where the police forces are extremely corrupt.
Again Kenya takes poll position according to the research followed by Burma.
92 percent civilians of Kenya ranks their police force as the most corrupt ones as they take bribes and also neglects the law and order of the country.

Corruption level of the police force of Burma is troubling the citizens here. These police forces make the victims pay for the criminal investigation that they take up. They are known for extorting money from the civilians of the country in different ways and for different reasons. Burma is followed by Iraq. The history of corruption among the Iraqi police force goes a long way back. They participate in kidnapping, bribery and other actions through which they earn good amount of money. Protecting civilians is not considered as their responsibility or duty.

Number four was given to the Somalia Police. The police force of Somalia is ineffective and is underpaid because of which they indulge in steeling, extortion and bribery. They are paid not more than twenty dollars a month.
They lie just above Afghanistan which occupied number 5.

Afghanistani police force are getting worse with every passing day as they are extorting money and inflicting violence on civilians. They are releasing the criminals from the prison and they also tend to avoid arrest of the criminals. Sudan was not to be outdone.
Corrupt police force of Sudan has proved their level of corruption so many times through extorting bribes from civilians and also avoids ignoring the investigation of crimes and violence.

The researchers put Russia on number 7. Russian government knows the corruption level of its police force. Police brutality, extorting bribes and developing the problems of the citizens are all the activities in which the police forces of Russia indulge in. Just below them lies Pakistan. The police force of Pakistan also deserves a well known rank and position among the most corrupted police force of the world. Arresting innocent citizens and taking bribes from them is the leading task of the police force of Pakistan. Although police force are known for managing law and enforcement of a country. But the policemen of these above mentioned countries are taking up to selfish and criminal activities to earn extra money by causing deep rooted corruption in the nation. Haiti is not to be outdone it sits on number 9.

World’s most corrupt police force belongs to Haiti. The police force of this country has negatively influenced the society through their unethical practices. The lawlessness of the country and the brutality of the police have developed a negative impression on the world. Which is all anchored by Mexico.

Mexico is holding the second position among the countries that have most corrupt police forces. The police here are most troubled and they are turning to get worse because of the increasing level of corruption. They are enforcing drug trafficking in the country and are also ignoring the crimes that are developing in the region.

The most surprising thing in all this is that the worst police forces in the world are from countries whose human rights record is deliberately not mentioned. This shows us why Zimbabwe falls in the process it is because there is a force somewhere which is meant to vilify or good police and government.

People may insult Matanga and his police force all they want but ZRP with its own faults is not in the list of guests on the devils table.
Let us learn to respect our police force and always be patriotic. We only have one country Zimbabwe which we can call ours.
