It is an absolute fact that most of the wards, constituencies and councils going for this weekend By-Elections are in urban areas, formerly under opposition dithering glaring misleadership and incompetent mismanagement from year 2000-2022 time series.
There are By-Elections in Bulawayo, Harare, Mutare major urban areas.
We, residents of these cities have suffered enough two decades of deteriorating deplorable service delivery failures under opposition A-Z primitive self enrichment misleaders. It is absolutely irrational to vote for these opposition parties to mismanage our urban areas again.
Honestly and factually, they have no interest in uplifting the amenities, public goods, public welfare. They failed to show just one example of excellence sample from 2000-2022 in all these municipalities they are mismanaging.
For example, in all opposition led councils, all residents across political divide and spectrum agree on the ubiquitous evidence of abject failures
Harare city council 2000-2022, there’s garbage growth, unhealthy erratic water supply, multiplication of potholes, dysfunctional traffic lights, unkept grass bushes, desertification of public recreational parks, illegal and confused parcelling out of land.
Mbare Musika, Montagu Shopping Centre, Market Square, Warren Park, everywhere garbage mountains are now an eyesore. Apparently, Harare city council vision is world class city by 2025.
Bulawayo City Council, potholes in CBD and in all residential areas.
Don’t believe any excuse these former council misleaders may give you in their defense to justify deteriorating urbanites living standards. They had 22 years to prove their ability towards excellence in public welfare delivery. We all agree they failed dismally. If there’s anything they did well, it is self aggrandizement self serving enrichment and interests. For example, Harare council, they chopped $144m Chinese bank loan facilitated by GoZ to improve Harare metropolitan water sanitation and reticulation. The loan was spent on dead capital luxury cars, workshops in resort towns aggrandizing hefty allowances. Irrational cruel mismanagement.
It is high time, there’s a deliberate kicking out these misleaders from all our major cities. They had 22 years to mismanage and their track record is there crystal clear for all to see.
Devolution funds are being availed. We see some progressive councils investing in real capital goods/equipment like earth moving machines, tippers, refuse collection trucks etc. However, in Harare we see council workers pretending to be busy with shovels and wheelbarrow filling potholes with jecha. Residents are like honestly??? What a pity to be led by incompetent opposition councils.
The revolution party, the people’s choice and delivering tangibles, ZANU PF must re-take-over these wards, constituencies and councils.
