Young Women for Economic Development (YW4ED) was launched by the First Lady of Zimbabwe, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa on August 14, 2021. The Young Women for Economic Development Diaspora Chapter was launched in October 2021. Part of the founding ethos as YW4ED is to see many young women economically emancipated.
YW4ED Diaspora Chapter Chairperson Salome Eric said: “YW4ED Diaspora Chapter, will be participating in at COP 26 Climate Summit in Glasgow November 2021 and our participation in this initiative is because we understand that climate change creates a wide range of risks for businesses”.
“Our involvement at COP provides us an opportunity to understand how we can support our government in meeting their NDS1 goals and deliverables. The summit allows us engage with industry leadership and key stakeholders and provide opportunities to engage with the COP agenda and participate in related events” added Eric.
YW4ED Diaspora Chapter are looking at creating sustainable projects to potentially embark on as we also work towards fighting climate change. The information we will gather from the summit will help us achieve better results.
