Covid is real and unless as teachers we use our brains than stomach, we will be decimated.
Against Ptuz decision several teachers have reported for Zimsec marking and more than 200 teachers have now tested positive at the various marking centres across the country. Zimsec, that has not invested in prioritisation of teachers’ health and safety will simply discard those infected and hire other teachers. Our humble submission to all teachers is that life is more important than a few pieces silver.
This is no time to make money. It’s time to save life of every teacher. All teachers must stop salivating at Zimsec marking, more so knowing that there were/are several candidates who were/are covid 19 positive.
Teachers must also stop invigilating public examinations as in essence they are not employed by Zimsec. Zimsec must prioritise the health and safety of invigilators, let alone their welfare. All teachers are advised to stay in the safety of their homes than venture into activities that leave them vulnerable to covid 19 pandemic. Those who need our services must pay the price for such services, let alone guarantee teachers’ health and safety. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
