Harare, Zimbabwe – (News of The South (- Zimbabwe’s Environmental Management Agency (EMA) yesterday revealed that it is working with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in harnessing natural resources to monitor and prevent air pollution in Zimbabwe.
EMA has received support from the International Atomic Energy Agency to monitor air pollution using Nuclear energy.




“EMA is tasked in terms of the environmental management act to ensure the sustainable use of natural resources in the prevention of air pollution.

We have received support from the International Atomic Energy Agency, IAEA to conduct air pollution monitoring using Nuclear energy.
We will be using isotopic and nuclear tools to monitor their pathways through the atmosphere, predict their distribution and estimate their impact on ecosystems.

The training started last week and we have many different users from the city council and other government departments having been trained,” said Mr Alpha Chikurira Environmental Quality Manager.
