In as much the lockdown was implemented, the increase of cases was seen, bringing us to the national tally of 10 034 cases recorded to date.
The increase in cases could be as a result of lockdown restrictions that have been lifted up in a way to rebuild our economy that have been impacted by the pandemic. By so doing, this is not easy for most to follow the covid-19 guidelines and this puts everyone at the risk of being exposed to the infection.
The opening of schools, might be adding to the cases increase. Some schools have been shutdown already since the opening in September as students are testing positive for covid. Schools are urged to follow the covid measures given to them, to avoid more disruptions for the writing classes which might lead to another indefinite lockdown.
Meanwhile, the country has recorded 8 489 recoveries and 277 since the onset of the pandemic. Most of these cases were recorded from returnees across the country and locally transmitted number of infections has increased in the recent weeks.
The lifting up of lockdown restrictions does not give pass for people to go against measures designed to be followed, so wearing of mask, sanitising and social distancing are still part of our day to day running of business.
