Zimbabweans of all age groups attended the event and were treated to food and music.
This reporter managed to catch up with Mangwana and asked about relations with other Zimbabwean parties based in the UK, Mangwana replied:
“We have cordial relationships, I am friends with Caston Matewu, Tonderai Samanyanga, Lloyd Nembaware from Mavambo, we are friends but our ideas and projects are different”.
Not many people from other parties attended the event as they were suspicious it was a ZANU PF event.
The event was simply to celebrate Zimbabwe`s independence.

While addressing the gathering, Mangwana stressed the importance of the mother.
“Zimbabwe is just like the mother we are gathered in this room celebrating Zimbabwe. When your mother is bereaved the good child is bereaved”.
We will not let our mother go in rags, we will not let Zimbabwe go in rags“A good son or child does something for their mother when there is a problem. Every child of Zimbabwe has an obligation to do something about Zimbabwe” he added.
