Zimbabwe African National Union(Patriotic Front) ZANU PF has confirms Terence Mukupe as their candidate for the Harare East Constituency By-election to be held in June.
In a letter addressed to Zimbabwe Electoral Commission ZEC, ZANU PF National Secretary for Commissariat Cde S. Kasuwere said that the party truly confirms that Cde Terence Mukupe is their rightful candidate for Harare East by elections.
He also made it clear that Terence Mukupe become party’s candidate after beating other six contestants in the party’s primary elections.
The letter also stated that ZEC should accept Terence Mukupe’s application thus nullifying the one of losing candidate Mavies Gumbo.
This follows after ZANU PF provincial chairperson Goodwills Masimirembwa nullified Cde Mukupe’s application from ZEC for allegations only known to himself and his fellow cowards thus declaring her close ally and losing candidate Mavies Gumbo winner.
The Masimirembwa led group of “cowards” has for the past few weeks been cooking allegations against Cde Mukupe.
“He will not go anywhere, although he wins the primaries, we will ensure he doesn’t take that seat”, declared one of the provincial leaders aligned to Masimirembwa.
Harare East Residents awaits ZEC announcement of Cde Mukupe’s candidacy for Harare East.
With voter registration having already started, the residents appeal to ZEC for an immediate announcement so that they register knowing the leader they voted for is on the race.
