(News Of The South) – The newly elected Zambian President Edgar Lungu is expected in Ethiopia where he will be attending the 24th session of the African Union (AU) Assembly being held from January 23 to January 31.


The Assembly is being held under the theme “Year of Women’s Empowerment and Development towards Africa Agenda 2063”.

The First Lady Esther Lungu will accompany President Lungu who will address the assembly on January 30 as per tradition for newly elected Heads of State.

During the same period the First Lady will also attend the meeting of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA).

The Zambian delegation comprising Minister of Foreign affairs Harry Kalaba, Minister of Health Joseph Kasonde and Tourism and Arts Minister who is acting Minister of Gender and Child Development Jean Kapata arrived in Addis Ababa on Monday.
