0 0London. – The President of Zimbabwe his excellency Emmerson D Mnangagwa in his inaugrual speech reached out to the Diaspora community, and we welcome these positive changes.
Zimbabwe Agricultural Initiative (ZAI) believes there has never been a better time for diaspora involvement.
These changes will affect our Zimbabwean community here in the UK and other Diaspora communities world wide, as you already are aware we can no longer claim refugee status.
As people get removed, this will impact on our already fragile social and economic situation and we are advocating for a smooth transition process.
We are therefore looking at ways that those going back can be integrated better into local communities including the plight of those remaining, as it brings identity and a sense of belonging.
We have valuable skills and we are an asset both in Zimbabwe and the UK. As a result we are actively engaging Zimbabwe and the UK governments and we are carrying out a needs assessment and skills audit.
We have so far started the process and hope to continue our quest to make a difference and help our fellow country men and women.
Please feel free to contact ZAI for further information if you are interested or know anyone who can benefit; admin@zai-agribusiness.org or contact the ZAI Board members. 07939116279/ 07855400441/07730367207
As you know, ZAI is a social enterprise, a diaspora-member initiative, created for Zimbabweans, to facilitate and promote Zimbabwe Diaspora Community involvement in agriculture related businesses, contract farming, public/private partnership and joint ventures, as a means for unlocking financial resources, accessing markets and delivery of appropriate agricultural technologies.
Here at ZAI we recognise the importance of land ownership hence we are focusing on agriculture and it’s related business activities and communities at large.
To create enabling environments for the Diaspora and other Communities to engage in agricultural activities along the value chain that would bring food sovereignty, poverty reduction and employment creation.

ZAI is registered in England and Wales as well as in Zimbabwe and we are an apolitical organisation and our members believe that regardless of gender, colour, creed or race we have an obligation and responsibility to develop the country.
To promote and improve for the public benefit the economic and social well-being of local communities living and working in areas where the company operates from.
To assist with relocation of Diaspora communities back to the Zimbabwean local communities and to help bring along a new set of skills and knowledge for the benefit the local communities.
To provide the Diaspora community with an interest in agriculture and community development with a platform to engage in business activities along the value chain.
To develop alliances and partnership with key stakeholders and investors.
And we feel these are areas of mutual benefit to many of us.
Thank you.
