As Zimbabwe celebrates its hard-fought victory for independence, the ZANU-PF UK Kudzai Makuku, has issued a stirring call to action for youths in the diaspora. In his Independence Press Statement, Eng. Makuku reminded youths of their vital role in safeguarding, protecting, and rebuilding Zimbabwe.

Eng. Makuku paid tribute to the heroes who fought for Zimbabwe’s independence, noting that their sacrifices have allowed modern-day Zimbabweans to enjoy freedoms and opportunities. He emphasized that independence is not just a celebration but a reminder of the responsibility to protect and build the nation. This sentiment underscores the importance of acknowledging the past while focusing on building a better future for all Zimbabweans.

The ZANU-PF UK Secretary for Youth Affairs also highlighted the importance of youths in driving economic growth and development. To achieve this, he urged youths to mobilize and invest in their country, contributing to national growth. This can be done by taking on critical roles in investing back home and becoming drivers of the economy. Furthermore, Eng. Makuku encouraged youths to build partnerships with fellow Zimbabweans, pursuing joint ventures that can drive progress and stimulate economic growth. By transforming into entrepreneurs, youths can become self-sufficient and contribute to the nation’s development.

Eng. Makuku also emphasized the need for skills and knowledge transfer between diaspora-based youths and those in Zimbabwe. This exchange can help bridge the gap between different communities and foster development. Additionally, he encouraged talented youths to get involved with the Ministry of Sports to represent the country, promoting national pride and unity.

To commemorate Independence Day, Eng. Makuku announced a special gift for five UK-based youths under 35, who will each receive two meters of Zimbabwe National Cloth. This gesture symbolizes national pride and unity, highlighting the importance of celebrating independence with pride and gratitude. It’s worth noting that ZANU PF has been promoting youth empowerment and development, with the youth league playing a significant role in the party’s structure.

As Zimbabwe looks to the future, Eng. Makuku’s message serves as a rallying cry for youths to take ownership of their country’s development. By working together, investing in their nation, and harnessing their skills and knowledge, Zimbabwean youths can build a brighter future for themselves and their country. Youth empowerment, economic growth, partnerships, and national pride are key principles that can guide this development.
