Zimbabwe (News Of The South)- The call by the newly elected Zimbabwe Football Associaton for the board to venture into farming is a very noble idea, which sounds very good and which may have positive results if properly implemented.
ZIFA which is reeling with a $6,5 million debt and have been surviving on handouts from Cuthbert Dube’s generosity, and coming u with an idea which can unlock some doors of finances prove to be a good call from our president.
But ZIFA President Cuthbert Dube needs to be reminded that farming is not a stroll in the park, as it needs a lot of finances to start with, and its a business which may prove disastrous at the end if mismanaged.
The Warriors are said to be still waiting for thier bonuses for the CHAN Tournament,the national team coach is yet to sign a contract by now with eight months working is that not your immidiate call of duty before you start venturing into your farming project?. I
Now you may be trying too hard to clean up yourself from the dirt you are still in and that can turn you into a good oractor yes, sweet talking so that we cheer up and forget who you really are,but beware you can end up adding some more dirt on yourself when your ideas fail to take us where we want to go.
Yes you were correct when you said some sponsors are struggling financially that`s true, but that does not mean all of them, Econet, Zimplats and some other big brands are making money have you ever tried to convince them to chip in our football or you are just waiting for those to knock at your door Mr President?
If you are failing to pay the guys who play the football which is the so reason of the formation of the board you lead where do you think you will find the money to pay farm workers?
I find your call so noble but realistically it seems as a dream, a good dream, if not a joke?
For now Mr President before you start your sleep talking try to organise a contract for Gorowa, pay our beloved Warriors their dues, and try to end the Asiagate, then from there you can carry on with your ideas:
