Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South)- Agna Nyamadzawo, the woman who died in the midst of a tragic stampede at the Giant Sports Stadium last Sunday during Worriors’ Afcon Qualifier match against DRC was laid to rest at Mutonda village in Domboshava on Wednesday.
Agna is survived by her husband Mike Muyengu with two kids Mikeleon and Lenon at thier matrimonial homestead in Msasa.
The funeral was attended by ZIFA President Felton Kamambo, Zimbabwe National Soccer Supporters Association(ZNSSA), relatives and friends including Precious Muza friend to the late Agna who survived with injuries during the Sunday stampede.
Precious Muza who is still recovering from the wounds described her friend as a caring father, mother, sister and everything in her life that she passed away in her very presence.
“Agna to me was a Father, mother and a great fighter who always stood by me in pain and sorrow. I never thought she would die during my presence but I can only say that she left me in deep pain,”she said.
Precious also took time to explain how she attempted to engage efforts which were fruitless to avert her heartfelt friend from succumbing to a rundown by a mob of supporters rushing into the stadium.
“ We were infront of the gate when mob of supporters pushed the gate before they at once came our way running over us, by that time I tried to get hold of her but the stampede became more heavier on me that I couldn’t help her out as I also lost my strength. I can only remember myself lying along with the body of my dearest Agna,” she said.
ZIFA President Kamambo expressed his deepest condolences before mourners where he described the late Agna as a true Warriors supporter who had come to the stadium to rally behind the national team. The whole football fraternity had been saddened by the manner she died.
“ I am deeply touched and saddened by the way our soccer fan died while she had come to support the worriors following our earlier announcements calling everyone to rally behind the national team. Basically when a person comes to the stadium we expect him/her to enjoy the game and go back home freely and alive. But I want to say to the worriors supporter go well,” he said.

Major General Overseer Foroma of the Salvation Church Braeside in his profound preaching during a service at the funeral said that eveyone born of a woman is destined to live shorter lifespan adding that Agna lived her time in the custody of God since joining the church in 2015.
“ Everyone born of a woman is destined to live a short life span as contained in the book of Job . Egna joined us in 2015 and had been with us through out and may I call upon everyone to use the limited time we have on earth productively in worshipping God alone like what Egna did,” he said.
Egna had an untimely death and the reflections from the other side of her life shows that she had a vibrant personality with entrepreneurial skills. Apart from this she was also active in promoting music of upcoming jazz artists.
