Many people in Zimbabwe have fallen in love with the outspoken Apostle Talent Chiwenga.
It’s normal for poverty stricken masses to align themselves with anyone who attacks the ZANU PF government in general, and President Mnangagwa in particular.
I was tempted to believe Zimbabwe has at last got its own Elijah who tells the leaders of their sins without fear.
I followed the man when he made his famous Adonijah-Joab prophecy soon after Mugabe was unceremoniously removed from power by the military. General Chiwenga being the brains behind the overthrow of Mugabe, he facilitated safe return of Mnangagwa and influenced his takeover as the President of both ZANU and government.
Apostle Chiwenga told us in his sermon that the coup plotters would not last long. His prophecy sounded sweet to the ears of whoever valued constitutionality and was against the illegal and forced resignation of Mugabe.
He issued that prophecy based on the coup plotters. Even posed a question, “Did Joab live?” As a philosopher he is, he left it to us to conclude, and no conclusion could be given divorced from the fate of the biblical Joab, who died not long after the insurrection against David.
It is only the spiritually blind who would fail to identify that his prophecy was centered on Mugabe as David, Mnangagwa as the son of David and Chiwenga as Joab.
Just as much as the rebellious son of David and Joab the army commander of Israel’s army died soon after their rebellion, Talent pointed out to the fact that the two, Mnangagwa and Chiwenga, who had orchestrated the insurrection against Mugabe, would go down the same lane Adonijah and Joab did go, not long after the rebellious act.
Being ardent follower of politics and zealous reader of the holly book, I was compelled to analyse his “prophecy” with interest. I’m however still waiting for its fulfilment.
The truth about this guy is, he abuses the immunity he gets from his being related to the VP. Blood is thicker than water, the President is human and understands his relationship with the VP depends on how he treats the issue of Talent.
Never think Vice President Chiwenga will rejoice in the death of Talent, his kin. Never.That’s a fact you may mischievously deny. In Shona we say “He who has a madman for a close relative will ululate when he dances.”
The guy is basking in the protection he gets from his belonging to VP’s family, again you may choose to vehemently deny it but it’s naked truth.
The VP failed to whip him into line, do you think he would fail if he wants, considering they’re blood cousins? No. Let’s open our eyes. If Mamombe and friends could be arrested and tortured by the government for just staging flash demonstration, how do you explain Talent enjoying his marathon venomous attacks with invective tongue on the President without check?
We should take care not to be hoodwinked into believing the guy is a courageous prophet who tells the truth. I like his truth against the rulers but he’s on a mission far from what the poor masses believe he’s serving.
Play around this theory and you’ll see light. Some ordinary individuals, including a police constable, are facing sentences for saying Mnangagwa has failed the economy ( one saying he’s a used condom).
In legal terminology the “used condom” phrase can be a hyperbole which is never true of who the President is. He’s a human, not a condom, so the phrase doesn’t depict a true fact ,but someone is in hot soup over it.
Why would Talent who publicly tells the whole nation that the President is psychopath remain Scot free if this is not a game? Go ahead and join his charade today, before dusk, you’ll be sure maligned, impugned and harangued by the state security agents.
You think Talent is untouchable because of God? No. He’s right at the epicentre of the matrix of power in ZANU and stage managed and choreographed exhibition of New dispensation freedom of speech.
The world will say, ” No one ever insulted Mugabe like this and survived – this Mnangagwa is indeed better.”
When Kazembe Kazembe issued a statement implicating Talent, Sikhala and Kasukuwere of being purveyors of coup rumours, the two politicians denied the allegations with the appropriate legal register expected of the accused, Talent went berserk and lashed out with more venom.
The VP is mute about it. Someone smell the coffee please. He who has ears, let him hear.
