Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South) – We need to have a society that is based on meritocracy and not on who you know or how much of a bribe you can pay for things to happen.
We have become a society that accepts mediocrity as opposed to demanding nothing less than the best. I’m bringing up my daughter’s not to accept anything that life throws at them but to make life be the dream that they want to live.
Zimbabwe needs to wake up and claim its rightful place in Africa. I cant accept that a country like Rwanda which exports half of what we export as a country has a happier citizenry than ours.
How does a country like Kenya without a single resource end up having mega deals with the Chinese such as building mega railway projects and we are failing to do better.
We need a paradigm shift. We need a change in our mindset and not wait on the government to be the messiah we are waiting for. The business community needs to also carry its weight and start pushing for the necessary reforms to create a conducive and investor friendly environment.
I’m shocked that the business community is silent on the stupid judgement by Happias Zhou that literally made judicial management impotent. We need to wake up and make the right noise where it’s necessary to do so!!!
