0 0Tinoonga Mawere(News of the South)- Masvingo- Water problems will persist in the city of Masvingo until the local authority completes the Water Augmentation Phase Two Programme.
The mayor of the city of Masvingo Councillor Collen Maboke told a local community radio station Hevoi FM the council was battling to supply adequate water to local residents.
“We are currently supplying 30 mega litres of water per day while we need 38.5 mega litres per day.
This means we have a deficit in terms of daily water supply.
However, we are working on phase two of the Water Augmentation Programme and when we complete the project, we will be able to supply 60 mega litres of water per day,” said Maboke in an interview with the radio station.
“We are therefore making frantic efforts to supply adequate water to local residents. We appeal to residents to be patient as we work towards the completion of the process,” said Maboke.
