The Arsenal midfielder will not be part of this years’ summer World Cup in Brazil after he succumbed to a massive antarior cruciate ligament rupture that will keep him out for at least six months, the News of the South has learnt.

Walcott was taken off during Arsenal’s FA Cup 2-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday afternoon and scans have shown that he has suffered a knee injury.

The 24-year-old will undergo a surgery to rectify the problem, which means he will be out for the reminder of Premier League season and the midfielder gestured the scoreline to the Tottenham fans as he was stretchered off the pitch.

But the Football Association said that the midfielder will not face any disciplinary action for what he did.

Theo played 21 matches for both Arsenal and England, netting seven times.
