Kenya Day was celebrated on Tuesday at the Scottish Afican Festival which began on Sunday July 20 and will end on Sunday August 3 at the end of the Commonwealth Games.

The festival is taking place at the Bella Houston Park in Glasgow.

News of The South managed to get some of the action from the awards presented by Zimbabwean Journalist Heather Mudhari.

Wednesday is Nigeria Day and will feature a carnival, face painting, drumming, traditional and cultural dance and will also feature live screening of the official openning of the Commonwealth Games.

Liberian Day will be on Friday and football legend George Weah will be at the festival where a football tournament will take place. Football fans can look forward to photo shoots with George Weah and as well as medal and trophy presentation and a music concert featuring Sundagar.

East African day will fall on the 29th and Southern Africa day will be on July 31.
