As Ptuz leadership we have decided to broaden the period of soliciting advice from members until next Monday. In the meantime our incapacitation modus operandi continues. The prolonged time will give members an opportunity to consult teachers across union and non-union divide on how teachers have been capacitated by the unpalatable Victoria Falls Agreement.
The betrayal agreement has not done anything to address our dispute of right. It would have been prudent if the gvt had advanced the January 2020 pay difference in order to assist teachers to report for work. Sadly, that amount would be paid in four instalments over four months by which time it would be valueless. Worse still nothing has been done to address the erosion of our purchasing power parity by the govt banditry and callous reduction of teachers’ salaries from an average of US$500 to US$35. Interbank rated salaries is what we crave for and gvt and Apex romance has left us far much detatched from this. It baffles logic that for their wisdom or lack of it, some colleagues in Apex salivated at this poisoned carrot.
Let the discussion over incapacitation panctuate and radiate every school, where possible on Friday, but mandatory on Monday 3 February 2020.
Teachers are their on liberators. The only way forward for incapacitated teachers is going forward.
