All eyes will be on the Breeders Fillies Mile and the Thoroughbred Breeders Associations Races to be held at Borrowdale Park Racecourse on Sunday July 27.
The Breeders Mile race is on at 15:25pm.
A field of ten horses have been accepted for this 1400m long race.
The winning collection will collect US $8000 while other placed runners will get $4 800, $ 1 600, $ 1000 and $ 600 respectively.
All the two year all fillies will not carry any additional weight giving them the freedom to gallop away.
Trainer Corne Spies sends out three runners Argodaba, Madamatso and Atso’s Girl.
Argodaba will be ridden by Francios Naude, Gareth Williams will saddle Atso’s Girl and Marshal Bikausaru will take on Madamatso.
From this field Argodaba is the most experienced runner with ten runs under her belt though with only a place finish.
Champion jockey Quinton Riddle will take Everlucky from the yard of Gokhan Terzi as Latin Queen from the same stable will be directed by jockey Lance Pagel.
Ever lucky has competed four times and placed four times. However, this runner is yet to register a win, a worrying situation for the trainer.
Could this race provide the platform for this runner to shine? Only time will tell.
The iron Lady of horse racing, Lisa Harris, has opted for Hollywood Babe (Randall Simons). Francios Herholdt will go legs-on with Viva La Fiesta another one from the yard of Lisa Harris.
Kirk Swanson opens the gates for Saile Rose who will be saddled by jockey Sherman Brown.
The Alyson Wright yard will look up to Tallie Two by Brendon McNaughton to fight for the winners prize.
Seasoned Trainer D’Aquino completes the list by fielding My Sassy Girl who will be ridden by Nicky Reobuck. My Sassy Girl stands among the most experienced horses in this competition with four runs and one place finish.
However, this field looks tricky in that no horse stands out as a possible winner from this pack.
It remains to be seen what will unfold when the stall gates are pushed open. As a result of that this race has all the ingredients to go all the way to the wire.
There will be two main feature races on the day, the TBA over 1200m and the Breeders Fillies Mile Sprint over 1400m.
