Tinoonga Mawere (News of the South) – Masvingo- Today Chazezesa Challengers and thousands of Simoko Music fans are commemorating the death of System Tazvida.
The Simoko Music icon died on February 4 1999 and he was laid to rest at his rural home in Zaka.
System Tazvida was born in Zaka in 1968 and he later moved to farms in Chegutu where he began his musical career.
Chazezesa Challengers band director and advisor Edmore Muchechetere said:” System Tazvida formed Chazezesa Challengers alongside his younger brothers Peter and Isaac in 1993. Lucky Mumiriki, Boysen Shoko and Leeroy Lunga were also part of the band at its formation.
System produced 11 albums before his death while other albums were released after his death, ” said Muchechetere.
“System produced sizzling albums like Rwendo Rweupenyu, Mutunhu Une Mago, Wadenha Mago, Huni Nyoro Mumoto and Rimi Remoto,” added Muchechetere.
“After the death of System, Peter assumed the leadership of the band and sadly he also passed on.Isaac then took over the leadership of the band.
As we speak right now, we are working on a six- track album but we are facing financial constraints.We are therefore appealing to Simoko fans to assist us in cash and in kind so that we can release the album,” said Muchechetere.
