Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The South) – As Zimbabwe joins the rest of the continent Africa in celebrating Africa Day, opposition leader Jacob Ngarivhume has bemoaned the lack of a vibrant youth policy in the continent.

In delivering his party’s message, the Transform Zimbabwe leader said while he acknowledges this year’s theme on ‘harnessing the potential in youths’ he feels that Africa is lacking a vibrant youth policy that can propel the continent to greater heights.

“I think this year’s theme is relevant and it should be noted that the future of Africa lies in the youths but however, there is the lack of a vibrant youth policy in this continent that can open up opportunities for the youths,” cited Ngarivhume.

He also discouraged youths not to indulge in violence but thus focus their energy on development.

He said his party feels that there is the potential in youths that is being presented by the social media revolution.

He castigated most African leaders on negating the ideals of the founding fathers of Pan Africanism.

“Africa Day is an important day to remember particularly on the roles and ideals that the founding fathers did contribute but whose ideals have been completely negated,” said the opposition leader.

Meanwhile, Transform Zimbabwe leader has castigated the recent appointment of Bona Mugabe as the board member of the Censorship Board saying it is very unfortunate and completely unacceptable.

Speaking on the coalition talks , he said very soon his party is also going to join forces with opposition parties like MDC-T.

“Very soon we will be signing a MoU with other opposition parties and we have been holding talks with political parties like the MDC-T,” added Transform Zim leader.

The statistician-cum-politician rallied the opposition parties to renew their vigour in the fight for democracy.

“We need to renew our vigour, strength and power in the struggle for democracy in Zimbabwe and we need to build a broad-based coalition,” advised Ngarivhume.
