Harare 26July 2017(News of the South) Zimbabwe Council for Tourism (ZCT) has urged all travel and tourism sectors to support the 2017 Sanganai/Hlanganani Expo in order to boost the Expo.
The tourism sector last year contributed $470 000 for Sanganai/ Hlanganani Expo.
Briefing the journalist yesterday, ZCT President Mr Tich Hwingwiri appealed to all tourism players in support the Sanganai/Hlanganani Expo in order to boost the economic growth.
“A final point l wish to make is that l should like to call on all travel and tourism operators to give full support to the 2017 Sanganai/Hlanganani Expo, to be held in Bulawayo in late September.
“It is a platform that is provided for us for the purposes of driving growth and we look forward to a good turnout of exhibitors, as well as to the achievement by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority of bringing in a good number of sustainable international buyers, whose presence will stimulate not just interest among, but also active promotion of, international arrivals,” he said.
Recently, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr Karikoga Kaseke said a third of the exhibition space has already been taken by local and international exhibitors, a good sign that the business world continues to see value in the fair.
Kaseke said, foreign exhibitors who have registered, are notably those from South Africa, Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Mozambique.
This year’s edition will be held from September 27 to 30 in Bulawayo.
