He never changed colour like a chameleon
He didn’t go where the wind blows like a willow flower He never bent towards sunlight like a desperate plant Humility and collectedness ran deep in his blood
Never ever did he flow with the tide like dead wood
He never faltered to be calm and exemplary
Never was he trapped by the smell of peanut butter like mice
Dignity and humility made him the finest being to ever walk this earth He refused to jump the ship till his last breath
He remained resolute to his beliefs and ideals
He never sold his Ubuntu for thirty pieces of silver
Like a sunflower he bloomed yellow gold with
hope for a better Zimbabwe,
Your Zimbabwe, My Zimbabwe,
A Zimbabwe that works for all.
Ghawe lamaghawe, son of the soil,
You walked the talk, fly high with the angels,
Rest, and rest longer in eternal freedom.
