By Dr Masimba Mavaza

The United States of America through it’s Embassy in Harare has stretched it’s divisive illegal hand towards Zimbabwe’s by-elections. It has started to cast aspersions and already giving a verdict on the elections which have not even been done.

We can already see the lion’s paw thrust into Zimbabwean Politics to help Chamisa and his party. No matter how loud the cry of ‘interference’ is, America never listens. It interferes and calls it democracy. Zimbabwe has always raised the question whether it was ‘compatible with the dignity, security and independent sovereignty’ of the Republic of Zimbabwe to allow a diplomat to ‘interfere in its domestic affairs by advising persons on political course as citizens of Zimbabwe. America will never or maybe is always reluctant to recall Its nosy diplomat. It is incompatible with the best interests and detrimental to the good relations of both governments’ if America continued in this current position.

Over the years, the America has become the locus classicus of diplomatic interference. It is also highlighting the consequences which conduct of this kind can generate, both for the diplomatic agent and for the receiving State. For the purposes of contemporary analysis, its outstanding significance lies in it’s illustration of the complexity of the assessment of diplomatic conduct in situations in which competing interests exist.
But the rule against diplomatic interference was already well established it can trace it’s roots to the very beginnings of permanent diplomacy. It’s basis was not a conscious effort at codification—it evolved naturally and corresponded to a need. By accepting diplomats, States opened the channels of communication; but they also allowed into their territory persons whose specific aim was the promotion of foreign interests.

Some ambassadors are influential. They are shrewd, blessed with a silver tongue and golden coins, and sent by powerful masters. Not all of them were unduly burdened by scruples or the good manners becoming a guest.
Later cases betray the sensitivity with which receiving States considered particular diplomatic statements. America has always scrupulously got tangled in conduct which is perceived as meddling into affairs of sovereign countries.

The American embassy in Zimbabwe has become defacto opposition activists.
“Zimbabwe Constitution grants citizens the right to choose their representatives in legitimate, credible, and peaceful elections. Multiple obstacles, however, prevented many Zimbabweans from registering to vote in time for by-elections despite the #RegistertoVote campaign efforts,” lamented the US Embassy in a string of tweets.

The Embassy took to the Twitter to shamelessly try to pre empty the results and apportioning the blame of the government. In their bullish mentality they forgot that elections in Zimbabwe are not controlled by the government or ZANU PF. SO the American government is creating a case for rigging even before there is such an allegation.

Allegations of an uneven playing field are beginning to fly around, purportedly to build a case for boycott. In employment law it amounts to constructive dismissal.

The interference of the Americans is to try and justify their regime change agenda.
It is a fact that America has invested in the MDC project for over two decades now, all in the vain hope for regime change in Zimbabwe.
America blames Zimbabwe for not introducing electoral reforms. Electoral reform is change in electoral systems to improve how public desires are expressed in election results.

Chamisa sits in his office feeling highly encouraged by the tweets events from American Embassy. Amidst all the hypocrisy and pretence of democracy and being a democratic police officer of the world, America is still bitterly divided country it has not healed from the Capitol Scandal.

The world has been entertained to the most barbaric violent show of how to lose elections the American way in 2021. This is the same America which disregards the diplomatic protocol.

In that vein, can we try to extract some positive election news from America.? Remember Trump! Of course, the best news is that America can not be a preacher of democracy peace and love. Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump. President Trump is a failed leader responsible for tens of thousands of unnecessary COVID-19 deaths, who has degraded his office and trampled on democratic norms. Nothing better illustrates his autocratic instincts than his attempts to stop the inauguration and peaceful transition of power. Two months after the elections Trump still label the election a Fraud. It is therefore normal that Zimbabwe, together with other democratic and progressive countries from around the world, must stop the rise of dictatorship in America. There has been unprecedented scenes of barbarism in America, this circus and tragic-comedy that is unfolding in the United States of America resembles a dogs breakfast. Foreign electoral interventions are attempts by governments, covertly or overtly, to influence elections in another country.

We can not observe America without setting our eyes on the branches of violence created by America. We look no further than our own back yard. We have an opposition who March to the Sheraton hotel where election command centre is operating from with one aim of overrunning it. This is cut from the American’s behaviour to rally thugs to the Capitol with one aim of disrupting an election process. The similarities are striking, Trump’s Vice President dumps trump and endorses Biden so did Khupe who endorses ED.

At the same time Trump refused to make clear indications on when he will leave office after being soundly trounced in the recent elections by his opponent, Joe Biden. On the other hand Chamisa pulls a legitimacy card against ED to this day.
The hypocrisy of the Western democracy has been exposed. The so called centre for democracy and its simple has been defiled by itself.

Shame on America and shame of forced democracy.
This should be a lesson to those who strive to destroy other countries in the name of democracy.
