Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) -All music genres are unique except the amount of exposure which ignites connectivity and warm reception from fans who are diverse in terms of selecting what to listen and when to depose a fading sound.

In the midst of all, traditional music has proved to be a stand alone music genre which has refused to be phased out from the entertainment scene over the preceding decades of years.

“There is no music which brings joy to my soul as traditional music,” a certain music fan once exclaimed.

The simplicity nature of the genre is less complicated as only few instruments are required to formulate a band which only excessively demands one’s passion and maximum level of dedication.

Chimurenga Music became a centre of prestige which allowed Thomas Mukanya Mapfumo to earn one magnanimous title in the history of the Zimbabwean music when he was awarded musician of the century.

His ability to arrange the fusion of African drums with marimba beat simultaneously flowing along with a traditional song probability borrowed from the ancient tales inevitably made tracks like Nyoka Msango, Kariba and Chinungu to become the greatest hits of all time.

The issue was not about the Chimurenga sentiments echoed in the music genre but the way instruments were arranged allowed the mbira rhythm to correlate local people with thier culture and the African drums made the traditional tune to give a sounding reality.

When the late Chiwoniso Maraire played her mbira with an interactive intuition and her voice entangled in spiritual verses on a wide modernised stage in the USA would always keep onlookers stay adept with an amazing warm reception.

When Jah Prayzah holds tight his mbira with synchronized fingers ticking the rhythmatic metal instantly he coexists momentarily with the spiritual realm as the indepted fans will be cheering to his dreadful head in its very ecstatic moves.

Real music is when the late iconic musician Oliver Samanyanga Mutukudzi tells a band member to play the drum with an enthusiastic zeal in his ´Rova Ngoma Mtavara’ hit track.

Upcoming artists such as Ice King decided to maintain the traditional art of music with a little bit of fusion added to the genre to come up with Afro-Trad without changing the very concept.

For Andy Muridzo given the mbira in his static hands the guitar will be a substitute as he thrives hard to convince his fans that come rain come thunder the creator was right in granting him ´Zvidhafu dhunda’ whose fatness always gives a lovely taste like an avocado in the seemingly of the Biblical Delilah.
