Nyanga, Zimbabwe. – The district medical officer at Nyanga District Hospital Doctor Admore Jokwiro says new technology should be utilized to improve the health sector.
Doctor Jokwiro was speaking after the Member of the House of Assembly for Nyanga South; Supa Mandiwanzira said he is introducing the telemedicine concept in the district. Doctor Jokwiro says the telemedicine concept will assist people living in inaccessible areas to get speciality’s medical services.
Mr Mandiwanzira, who is the Minister of Information Communication Technologies and Courier Services, told journalists that the concept will be spread across the country.
Telemedicine is the use of telecommunication and information technologies in order to provide clinical health care to communities in distant rural communities. Telemedicine is a fast emerging sector in the developed world.
