Daniel Sturridge is yet to overcome his thigh problem he succumbed on April 13 against Manchester
City and is likely to miss Monday’s match.

The England striker limped out of his team’s 3-2 victory over Manchester City back in April with a hamstring injury, and then he did not take part in Liverpool’s 3-2 win at Norwich the following week.

Last Saturday Sturridge was only fit for a place on the bench against Chelsea and was introduced later second half and coach Rodgers on Friday regreted the striker should not have taken any part in that 2-0 loss to Chelsea.

“We’ll see over the next 48 hours,” Rodgers told journalists.”He hadn’t trained since he got injured, so it was a bit much (Chelsea match).

“He had worked really hard to get back and we needed something on the bench that could support us and help us in the game but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be.

“But he is certainly in a much better place. He’s worked tirelessly this week with the medical team.He rejoins the group and we’ll see how he is come Monday.
