South Africa were given a rude awakening by Jamaica in the openning game of the Nations Cup in Nottingham.

A fired up Jamaica took the lead from the onset and continued till the end. South Africa showed they were not not physically fit as the Jamaicans and made a lot of mistakes. South Africa’s defence was found wanting throughout the game and Jamaica’s Jhanielle Fowler was left unmarked most of the time.

Jamaica appeared to have done a lot of homework since the Worldcup games as seen by their strenghth and determination.

Captain Bongi Msoni played her all to ensure players were supplied with good ball passes.
