Sherwood Replaces Villas -Boas

Tottenham’s technical co-ordinator Tim Sherwood has taken over the reins at White Hart Lane on interim basis following the sacking of the Portuguese mentor Andres Villas-Boas on Monday morning over a prolonged spell of poor results.
The News of the South understands that Sherwood will be appointed the next permanent Tottenham boss if he impresses on the pitch.
According to the statement released on Monday evening Spurs’ said:”We can announce that Sherwood, Chris Ramsey and Les Ferdinand will take charge of the first team while the club progresses discussions.”
The 44-year-old former midfielder is also a member of the Tottenham transfer committee for signing players. He has done exceptionally well with the Spurs development team, which has won many silverware. His first charges will be on Wednesday when Tottenham play West Ham in Capital one Cup clash.
News of the South understand that Tottenham have also made efforts to get hold of Guus Hiddink and Fabio Capello, but the duo are committed with the Dutch national team and Russia respectively.
Tim Sherwood played for Tottenham for four years between 1993 and 2003 before coming back five years later as assistant to Harry Redknapp and he has worked with his predecessor for months.
