Juventus goalminder Gianluigi Buffon is of the opinion that Serie A title contest is wide open following his side’s 2-0 defeat to Napoli on Sunday.
Napoli got their first goal through Jose Callejon midway of first half before Dries Mertens’ second half effort secured all three points for the Partenopei.
Juventus remains 11 points ahead of second placed Roma in Italy, despite having played a game more than Rudi Garcia’s troops.
“Without going in search of whatever excuse, I have to say that Napoli deservedly won and that we did not express ourselves enough,” Buffon told Mediaset Premium.
“The Scudetto is wide open because Roma are in good shape. They have all of the credentials to make it a race for the finish title and should be up again.
“The loss does not bother me ahead of the Europa league last eight. In the end, sometimes losses precede big wins, which has often happened for us in the past.Let’s hope that`s the case again.
The Turin based outfit will visit Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday in the opening leg of their last eight Europa league encounter against French giants.
