Tinoonga Mawere|Leading political analysts in the city of Masvingo have said the seizure of a motor vehicle belonging to a local pressure group by state security is unacceptable in the new dispensation.
Political observers described the decision by state security agents to seize a motor vehicle belonging to Community Tolerance Reconciliation and Development(COTRAD) last week as detrimental to the spirit of reconciliation and national unity. Respected Masvingo based political analyst Jefferyson Chitando said:”On the contrary President Emmerson Mnangagwa is on record denouncing acts of violence against civilians yet on the ground a totally different story is happening.
We therefore do not expect such things to happen in the new dispensation.
As far as we are concerned COTRAD is a civic organisation that seeks to promote peace, tolerance and diversity of views in the country.”
Another political observer Batsiranai Ngugama also said:” We expect our leaders to walk the talk. “
COTRAD officials were arrested during the national shutdown last week.
