School head injured on duty appeals for USD2500 to pay medical bills.
HARARE, Zimbabwe. (News of the South) – A Zimbabwean primary school head who got injured at work is appealing for money to pay medical bills.

The head Taurai Mahara was involved in a car accident on December 11 and his hand suffered three fractures.
The accident occurred while he was going to submit Grade 7 Zimsec examination scripts.
Mahara was rushed to Beatrice Clinic and was transferred to Avenues clinic.
He was later advised to go to Parirenyatwa where he arrived around 9am and got assistance around 10pm.
According to a reliable source close to him,he was advised that government hospitals cannot assist him because of lack of resources and specialist doctors.
A specialist doctor qouted USD2500 for medical attention.
School heads in Zimbabwe earn below USD200 gross salary per month.
National Convenor of Teachers Can’t Breath, Tafadzwa Munodawafa posted a message in teachers groups appealing for donations to the educator who is in pain.
“I am coming to you comrades, to appeal for assistance. The suffering of the fellow comrade is a result of the slavery wage we earn. The lady in the audio raises questions that brings about reality to our different. It’s a painful plea that sobers our minds comrades.
“The following are details where we can send anything that we have keeping in mind that all procedures are in USD. That little you have, will go a long way comrade, don’t hold it back,”she said.

Most government workers in Zimbabwe cannot afford medical aid that covers all expenses.
The Premier Service Medical Aid only paid consultation fees and all other expenses like X-ray,Mahara paid USD21 cash.
