Ides of March: SAYA’s Statement on the recent Supreme Court judgment.
By – Criss Manjonjo SAYA Spokesperson
MDC Youth Assembly in South Africa ( SAYA) roundly rejects Supreme Court’s brazenly political judgment delivered yesterday , amidst a global pandemic which has forced our country to go into a lock down .
Yesterday’s judgment is as bizarre as it is farcical not least because the presiding officers descended onto the arena, paid scant regard to facts, evidence adduced in court, events, much less the law but applied politics instead of the law.
It is a new low for an already compromised and captured judiciary , it ranks with a host of other nonsensical judgments made in the past where Zanu PF appendages in the judiciary prostituted the courts to foist unwanted leaders on our country .
If anything, the judgement betrays preposterous jurisprudence which we have been subjected to over the years and insidious political interference by Zanu PF and its surrogates who have vested interests in our party’s activities.
It was curious enough that the judgment was delivered under the cover of the lock down, equally telling; some light hours before it was delivered a shameless Thokozani Khupe was already playing to the gallery, sounding all triumphant and dissembling leadership.
Zanu PF’s hidden hand could not have clearer, so much that before the gavel had even fallen their police thugs had already cordoned off our Headquarters- MRT House.
Khupe and her running dogs in our midst, some who showed their cloven hooves yesterday , must know that we will not accept her leadership or any leadership given to us by Zanu PF courts.
<br
The events of yesterday spells curtains for Khupe and her quisling lot in our ranks who for a long time pretended to be part of us while nicodemusly dining with Zanu PF, President Morgan Tsvangirai must be turning in his grave.
Zanu PF cannot and will not choose leaders for us in this lifetime or the next even via dubious court verdicts acting in collusion with their poodles among us.
We stand with the leadership elected at our party’s congress last year in Gweru under the able stewardship of President Advocate Nelson Chamisa who will lead us until our next congress in 5 years.
We stand with President Advocate Nelson Chamisa, the only person who possess the gravitas to remove Mnangagwa and Zanu PF from power and the only foot forward not some tired jesters who failed in comedy.
Our party faithfuls must be remain resolute and stand ready to defend our party from Zanu PF enemies within or without for this is the time to stand up and be counted.
