London, England. (News of the South)-The Southern Africa Music and Arts (SAMA) festival explodes into life this Friday in England with a number of shows lined up throughout the Easter holiday with a heavyweight line-up comprising top Zimbabwean artists Oliver Mtukudzi, Winky D, Jah Prayzah, and Fungisai.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday Alex Mharapara one of the directors of Y2K, the organisers of the festival, said all things were in place for an epic Easter festival of the best Zimbabwe has to offer musically.
Flanked by the musicians, except for Tuku who is reportedly attending a funeral, Mharapara outlined the calendar for the musical fest.
The event starts in London with shows being held on the 14th in Essex.
On the 15th of April the multi-awarding winning assembled group of musicians will perform in Leicester in a show that Mharapara dubbed a coming home event.
“Obviously Leicester is more like our home ground, it’s just an emotional show for us and it is at Leicester Arena on the 15th”, said Mharapara.
Frederick Matenga the other Director for Y2K said the 2016 SAMA event had been over-subscribed such that this year they had put in place contingency plans to cater for all fans.

This has resulted in the selection of bigger venues this year.
The SAMA event is an annual music and arts function held each year during the Easter holiday by Y2K which was formed in 2000.
Tickets for the show are going for 40 pounds and advance tickets have reportedly already run out and the organisers confirmed they printed more tickets.
