Sri Lanka’s President Mahinda Rajapaska and Rwandan President Paul Kagame met on the sidelines for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting(CHOGM) 2013 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre in Sri Lanka.
President Kagame thanked President Rajapska and his government for the arrangement that has been put in place for hosting CHOGM 2013.
“We have a good understanding of some of the issues,” President Kagame said while noting that he looks forward to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Several other dignitaries from Rwanda accompanied President Kagame.
President Rajapska invited President Kagame to return to Sri Lanka for an official visit which the Rwandan President replied by saying that he would be “happy to be back” to get a better understanding of the country.
