Harare, Zimbabwe.(News of Thr South) -The attack occurred over the weekend at a local restaurant in Ruwa.
Zanu PF youths claimed the victim had uttered provocative words against the party’s losing candidate — Ronald Chindedza and party’s National PC Cde Kasukuwere.
“We know him, he is saying rubbish things against Chindedza and our National Political Commissar Cde Kasukuwere and he should not be here,” shouted one of the ruling party youths during the melee.
Nicholas Chakanyuka suffered severe head injuries and is currently on the run after the youths promised to set his place ablaze.
In an interview with News of The South, Nicholas Chakanyuka said he just repeated the sentiments made by President Robert Mugabe about Norton election conduct.
“Why would they be angry with me, president said it all on TV and radio that Chindedza was a thief and Kasukuwere imposed a candidate to the people which led to ZANU PF losing in the election to Themba Mliswa”, narrated Chakanyuka.
The Norton seat fell vacant when former Zanu PF MP Christopher Mutsvangwa was expelled from the party and recalled from Parliament.
