Masvingo, Zimbabwe. (News of The South)- Residents in Rujeko B in the city of Masvingo are worried about the sewage smell which is the order of the day in the residential area.

The trench that runs parallel to Mucheke river has sewage which is running in that trench and in some yards there is sewage daily.

According to residents they are fed up with reporting of the sewage burst everyday and they are organising to mobilise themselves and go to Town Engineer and Town Clerk offices to demonstrate.

The flirth deposited in Mucheke river which might cause health hazard to the residents in the Masvingo City.

Zimbabwe has the worst health system and water borne diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea and dysentery has killed a number of people in Harare.

Despite having good water Masvingo Mayor Hubert Fidze has won an award which was organized by local government as he was praised for cleanliness as the city scooped the award as the city with the best service delivery,but the residents are saying it’s water under the bridge because the city fathers has failed this year.
