Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – Neo Colonialism went a long way in afflicting people’s mindsets to the extent of ignorantly sidelining their own cultural norms and values that even if the story of bringing back Mbuya Nehanda’s Skull is told will never find reception.

Zimbabwe have suffered cultural deprivation since time immemorial a predicament that has seen the entire society lagging behind all aspects of development visa vee countries like Botswana, Ghana, Nigeria, United Kingdom are still observing their cultural norms and values.

The restoration of Hunhu/ Ubunthu has seen all generations on a cross cultural section beginning to awaken after decades of years in slumber embracing a populist culture of modernity which merely crippled people’s attention to realize the essence of traditional ethos.

In the same vein the highly anticipated Repatriation Conference slated for July 27 this year in Leicester United Kingdom will be a showcased opportunity for Zimbabweans abroad to correlate various aspects of the local culture and subsequently paving way for negotiations with London to bring back remnants of Royals.

Among the crucial aspects to be deliberated at the conference is centred on bridging the existing gap between people and their traditional culture which will see all Zimbabweans understanding to embrace the need to urgently push for the repatriation of Royals.

This will subsequently play threefold significance to end all the current upheavals and untold sufferings striking the general citizens.

Gina Eugene Majuru the host is also one of the panelists expected to attend the July conference in the United Kingdom reiterated that the event is expected to find ways in bringing back the Zimbabwean Culture as this is the only way to make people realize the importance of bringing back skulls of Royalties like Mbuya Nehanda and a sacred talking rod which the British impounded at the height of colonial occupation.

“Zimbabweans abroad particularly the United Kingdom came up with the idea to hold a Repatriation Conference to be held in Leicester.”

“Of late we realized that people in Zimbabwe no longer observe their cultural norms and values, so it is our duty to ensure we get back on track and value the importance of our culture to the people will enable them to comprehend in pushing the the repatriation conference.”

Most countries in the world such as Britain, Ghana, Nigeria are still connected to thier traditional ethos hence the need to re-awaken Zimbabwe’s own culture.

The one day conference is also expected to bring light to issues pertaining to Zimbabwean History, Independence and Chimurenga War of Liberation and will have a direct effect on journey to spearhead repatriation of Royalties to the motherland.

Panelists expected to grace the occasion include, Professor George Shire, Dr Masimba Mavaza, Lloyd Msipa, Pastor Richard Tembo, Linos Wengara, Elliot Bvepfe, Prisca Chireka, Morrisen Mamutse, Xavier Zavare, Pardon Tapfumaneyi, Last Mafuba, Nerriah Mashamna and Aunty Jenny Musonza.

Sponsors and volunteers for the conference are very welcome. The event will be a free event where food and drinks will be served. There will be entertainment from talented Zimbabweans scattered around the UK.

Great Zimbabwe International Festival are hosting the event, a similar event was held in June 2018.
